Final Outlook

June collections were supported primarily by the sharp jump in import-linked GST rather than a broad acceleration in domestic activity. With refunds rising faster than gross revenue, the net collections picture was more measured than the headline figure suggests. Whether the import-led strength carries into July will be the key data point to watch in next month’s GST release.
