Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (L&T) has announced a major order win today, 23 December 2025. The largest infrastructure company in India has won a ₹10000 crore order for its hydrocarbon business from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL).

Scope of Order

L&T Onshore will be in charge of executing this L&T hydrocarbon business order. This will include engineering, procurement, construction, and even commissioning of a linear low-density polythene, high-density polyethylene swing unit. This will be the largest in the country, comprising two trains of 575 KTPA each, and this will be located at Bina in Madhya Pradesh.

Deputy Managing Director of L&T, Mr. Subramanian Sarma, said that this Larsen & Toubro order is a major one, not only for their balance sheets but also for exploring the hydrocarbon EPC space more and establishing a strong hold in the same space.

L&T has been on a roll since last week, as this is not a single order win for the group. Last week, the buildings and factories segment of the company won a significant order from Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation as well. Large orders are usually between ₹2500 crore to ₹5000 crore as per the company’s classification.

BPCL’s Bina Refinery Expansion Project

This LLDPE/HDPE unit setup project is offered by BPCL to L&T for expanding its refinery at Bina in Madhya Pradesh. This will be a part of setting up a full-fledged petrochemical complex at Bina and also enhance the current refinery capacity, which is 7.8 MTPA to 11 MTPA.

Share Price Movement

Today, the L&T share price surged 0.15% approximately around 1:30 p.m. to ₹4076 apiece. This year, the stock has gained around 11.22% until today. On the other hand, the BPCL share price surged 0.18% to ₹370.5 per share, and this year, the state-run petroleum giant gained a whopping 25.45% which is quite contrary to the overall market scenario. It will be interesting to see how the new expansion plans play out for the petroleum giant.
