L&T completed a hostile takeover of Mindtree, a Bengaluru-based IT services company, even in the face of opposition from Mindtree’s promoters.
In 2022, a major announcement was made that Mindtree would merge with LTI, and the combined entity would be called LTIMindtree. This merger created a powerful force in IT services.
By November 2022, the merger was completed, making LTIMindtree India’s fifth-largest IT services provider by market capitalisation and the sixth-largest by revenue. Mindtree’s shares were delisted, and shareholders received 73 shares of LTI for every 100 shares of Mindtree.
