Second Instalment:

  • You register the childbirth.

Single Instalment:

There are certain conditions that you must fulfil:

You register your pregnancy and have at least one Ante-Natal Check-up (ANC) within six months.

You must get this checkup from LMP at the Anganwadi Centre (AWC) or approved Health facilities identified by the respective administering State/UT.

In the case of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana registration of the birth of a girl child, she receives all due vaccines till she attains the age of fourteen weeks from the date of birth as admissible under the Universal Immunization Programme of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Amount: Rs. 6,000/-

In case of miscarriage/stillbirth, you would be treated as a fresh beneficiary in the event of any future pregnancy.

Ensuring Timely Payments to Beneficiaries

To ensure prompt payment, all eligible beneficiaries who have applied and meet the required conditions will receive their funds via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). 

This means

i. Benefits only through DBT to Bank or Post Office accounts.

ii. No payments through cash or by cheque.

iii. Money transfer facilitation through banks and post offices integrated with PFMS (Public Financial Management System).

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Eligibility Criteria

The PMMVY involves certain conditions for receiving benefits:

  • Pregnant women aged at least 19 are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants experiencing wage loss due to pregnancy and currently employed are eligible.
  • Eligible beneficiaries must apply for PMMVY benefits within 270 days of childbirth.

  • A husband’s Aadhaar is not mandatory for scheme benefits.
  • Pregnant women and lactating mothers employed with the Central Government, State Government, or Public Sector Undertakings do not qualify for PMMVY eligibility.
  • Also, those receiving similar benefits under existing laws are not eligible for PMMVY benefits.

How to Apply Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana Scheme

  • You must visit the official Ministry website and click on the Citizen login tab.
  • Next, you need to enter your mobile number and verify it.
  • Next, you need to provide details like Full Name, State, District, Area, Block, Village, and relationship with the beneficiary. Click the Create Account button.
  • With the succesful creation of your account, you must now go back to the main homepage.
  • Next, click on the Login tab and enter your User ID, Password, and Captcha code.
