Components of the Scheme – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

The government covers all training and assessment fees under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY). The scheme is run at both the central and state levels. Also, there is an equal allocation of funds and targets.

The scheme includes three main components:

Short-Term Training (STT)

The main purpose is to benefit Indian nationals who are school or college dropouts or unemployed.

These Rozgar Melas can also include online versions. They connect job seekers with potential employers, offering placement opportunities.

Placement Assistance

PMKVY offers support for placing trained and certified individuals into jobs or self-employment. Training providers collaborate with DSCs or SSDMs for placements. Candidates interested in entrepreneurship also receive support. They can use the ‘Placement’ tab on the job portal to find job opportunities.

Continuous Monitoring

STT, RPL, and Special Projects under PMKVY 3.0 are monitored regularly through surprise visits and progress reports submitted by the implementing agency.

PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana Eligibility

To be eligible for the PMKVY scheme, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • You must be an Indian citizen who is either unemployed or a school/college dropout.
  • You must have a valid Aadhaar card and a bank account.
  • You have to provide additional ID proof. This could be a PAN card or Voter ID.
  • Additionally, you must meet any specific requirements set by the Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) for the job roles you’re interested in.

It is important to note that current college students cannot apply for PMKVY, as the scheme targets school and college dropouts.

PMKVY Registration Process

  1. First, linking your mobile number to your Aadhaar for OTP verification is essential.
  2. PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana Apply Online- You must visit the Skill India Digital portal and click “Register” at the top-right corner of the homepage.
  3. Please choose the “learner/participant” option.
  4. Next, you must enter your mobile number to receive an OTP and create a PIN for your account.
  5. You need to enter your Aadhaar number, and the OTP sent to your mobile.
  6. You’ll be redirected to the login dashboard, where details from your Aadhaar will be auto-filled. 
  7. Next, you must complete all eight sections: Personal Information, Language, Education, Experience, Differently Abled, Documents, Family, and Banking.
  8. Once you’ve filled in all the details, you can apply for training and courses and find nearby training centres.
